Service Description

Have you always had a love of letters, fonts, and ancient manuscripts or book illustrations, or maybe you love modern calligraphy? Perhaps you are enchanted by Chinese or Islamic calligraphy styles.... but just didn't know where to start? This class will teach you how to begin a calligraphy practice as seen through an artist's eyes. We'll explore all the tools and materials and create some small pieces to see what techniques, tools and styles we might like to develop. We'll learn all about inks, pens, brushes and tools, paper(s) /surfaces and more. Students will be given a supply list at the first class; other supplies are provided by the instructor.
